Senior Backend Engineer

About the Role

We are looking for a Senior Backend Engineer to join our infrastructure team. You will be responsible for designing and building the systems that power ShadowPhone's automation engine. This is a high-impact role where your work directly affects thousands of operators and millions of Instagram actions every day.

What You Will Do

• Design and implement scalable microservices for our automation pipeline
• Build and maintain real-time communication systems (WebSocket) between desktop clients and backend
• Optimize ADB command execution and device management systems
• Develop module execution engine that processes automation workflows reliably
• Implement monitoring, alerting, and observability across all services
• Collaborate with the product team to design new automation features
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to engineering best practices

Requirements

• 5+ years of backend engineering experience with Python or Node.js
• Experience building and scaling distributed systems
• Strong understanding of WebSocket, REST API design, and event-driven architecture
• Experience with PostgreSQL and Redis
• Familiarity with Docker, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud deployment (Railway, AWS, or similar)
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently

Nice to Have

• Experience with Android ADB or mobile automation
• Knowledge of Instagram's platform and automation challenges
• Experience with Electron or desktop app development
• Background in anti-detection or fingerprinting systems
• Experience with FastAPI or similar Python web frameworks
