Automation Best Practices

Practical controls for reviewable Instagram operations, with no guarantee of safety, reach, or account outcomes.

Profile Mapping

Document which authorized accounts use each GrapheneOS profile. Profiles separate app data on the same physical phone; they do not create separate hardware or network identities.

Post Real Content

Accounts that only engage but never post are suspicious. Maintain a regular posting schedule alongside your automation. Quality content also improves your organic reach.

Use Registered Actions Intentionally

Choose only the registered modules needed for the workflow, such as Story Viewer, Engage, Follow, Unfollow, posting, or outbound DM Automation. Review run logs and platform feedback instead of assuming a particular action mix is safe.

Monitor and Adapt

Review run logs, failures, Instagram Account Status, recommendation eligibility, and in-app warnings. Instagram does not expose a numeric trust score to ShadowPhone.

Keep Software Updated

Use a supported ShadowPhone version and validate critical workflows on a test profile after app or handler changes. Updates can include navigation fixes and performance improvements; they are not a promise about detection or enforcement.

Have a Recovery Plan

If an action is restricted, stop the affected workflow, read the in-app notice, review Account Status, and use any available appeal path. ShadowPhone does not claim a universal automated Recovery Mode.
