Rate Limiting Guide

Understand Instagram's rate limits and how ShadowPhone manages them to keep your accounts safe.

Instagram's Known Limits

While Instagram does not publish exact limits, our testing across thousands of accounts reveals approximate thresholds: 150-200 likes/day, 50-100 follows/day, 20-30 comments/day, 30-50 DMs/day for established accounts. New accounts should use 30-50% of these numbers.

Dynamic Rate Limiting

ShadowPhone uses dynamic rate limiting that adjusts based on your account's Trust Score. Higher trust scores allow more actions. If the system detects any warning signs, limits are automatically reduced.

Hourly vs Daily Limits

Instagram monitors both hourly and daily activity. Spreading actions throughout the day is safer than doing everything in a burst. ShadowPhone automatically distributes actions across your scheduled time windows.

Cooldown Periods

After hitting a rate limit or receiving an action block, ShadowPhone enforces a cooldown period before resuming. The cooldown duration depends on the severity: minor blocks = 2-4 hours, major blocks = 24-48 hours.
