Troubleshooting Connection Issues

Solutions for common phone connection problems including driver issues, ADB errors, and intermittent disconnections.

Phone Not Detected

1) Ensure USB debugging is enabled. 2) Try a different cable (charge-only cables will not work). 3) Try a different USB port on your computer. 4) On Windows, check Device Manager for driver issues. 5) Restart ADB from ShadowPhone Settings.

Frequent Disconnections

Disconnections are usually caused by: low-quality cables, insufficient USB hub power, Windows USB power saving, or phone sleep settings. Disable 'USB selective suspend' in Windows Power Options and enable 'Stay awake' in Developer Options.

ADB Authorization Issues

If you see 'unauthorized' status: 1) Check your phone for an authorization prompt. 2) If no prompt appears, go to Developer Options > Revoke USB debugging authorizations, then reconnect. 3) Make sure to check 'Always allow' when authorizing.

Windows Driver Issues

Some phones require specific USB drivers on Windows. Install Google USB Driver from Android SDK or use Universal ADB Driver. ShadowPhone's ADB installer usually handles this automatically.
